Day 1: Costa de Barcelona
Upon arrival in Barcelona you'll be met and transferred to your hotel in Costa de Barcelona area. Rest of the day at your leisure. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Barcelona
Today we will visit Barcelona city, the capital of Cataluña's region and Spain's most exciting and sophisticated city. Your included full-day excursion comprises a panoramic drive through the city to view Barcelona's most famous monuments, including the Sagrada Familia and the beautifully landscaped Park Güell, both designed by the renowned Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, recognized worldwide as one of the most influential architects of his time. Your tour will also take you to other famous sites, such as the National Palace and Barcelona's 1992 Olympic installations. Next, you'll visit one of highest points in the city for amazing panoramic views and spectacular photo opportunities. Walk the beautiful Las Ramblas boulevard, which the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca once referred to as "the only street in the world which I wish that would never end," and visit the beautiful palm-lined Plaça Real. Enjoy some free time for lunch, shopping, visiting the Picasso Museum, and any other sites you wish to see on your own, before returning to your hotel. Breakfast & dinner included.
Day 3: Carcassonne
After breakfast we will leave for a full day excursion will take you to the medieval walled city of Carcassonne, France. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this fortified city has a rich history dating back to the first ramparts built by the Romans. Under the rule of the Visigoths, Carcassonne flourished during the Golden Age as a major economic center. The city is most recognized by its formidable crenulated walls and towers that were fully restored in 1853 by French architect Eugene Viollet-le-Duc. Carcassonne offers visitors spectacular examples of mediaeval architecture and picturesque panoramas of the surrounding countryside. You will be able to explore the city's winding cobblestone streets and admire its marvelous plazas. Some free time to have lunch at your own and return to your hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: Day at leisure
Accommodation, breakfast & dinner provided. There are also optional excursions available, such as the visit to Girona city which has a rich heritage and old fortifications.
Day 5: Montserrat
This half day excursion will take you to the mountaintop monastery of Montserrat. You will take the track railway three miles (5 km) up the mountainside, enjoying fantastic views and scenery as you make your way to the monastery. Inside the church, guests can see the patroness of Cataluña, the statue of the Black Madonna. Around noon, one of the oldest and most esteemed children's choirs in Europe will sing. You can also visit the museum to see works of art by Picasso, Caravaggio, El Greco, and other Catalan artists. Free time to have lunch at your own or to buy some stuff in the shops around the Monastery. Return to your hotel. Accommodation. Breakfast & dinner provided.
Day 6: Day at leisure
Accommodation, breakfast & dinner provided. There are also optional excursions available, such as the visit to the mediaeval cities of Rupit or Besalu and the French border city of Colliure.
Day 7: Full day excursion into the amazing world of Salvador Dali
First you'll visit the house of Gala Dali in Pubol. This medieval castle was the residence of the painter's wife, Gala, during the 1970's, and the painter's own residence in the 1980's. Today, it is a museum housing various paintings, drawings & sculptures. Next, you'll continue to Figueres to see the theatre-museum of Salvador Dali. Inaugurated in 1974, it contains a wide range of works which describe the artistic genius of Dali. Afterwards we will continue to your hotel. Accommodation. Breakfast & dinner provided.
Day 8: Departure
Breakfast and transfer to the airport. Check in at the airline desk and end of our services.
