Highlights of Spain (Sample Itinerary)
Day 1: Barcelona
Arrival in Barcelona Airport where our Tour Director will be waiting for you in order to transfer you to the hotel. Panoramic Tour of the city in the afternoon, where you will see the Gothic Quarter, Ramblas and Columbus monument, Plaza Catalunya, Alcalde's viewpoint, historic Paseo de Gracia, Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell, Casa Milà, Montjuic Castle and visit to Santa Maria del Mar church. Dinner and overnight in Barcelona.
Day 2: Barcelona - Zaragoza - Madrid
Departure after breakfast to Zaragoza. There we will visit to the Pilar Basilica and some free time to have lunch at their famous tapas quarter "El Tubo". We will continue our journey to Madrid, check in at the hotel and dinner. Free evening to explore the city.
Day 3: Madrid
After breakfast we will have a sightseeing tour of the city, visiting the Madrid of Philip II and the Austria's, its rennaissance and barroque buildings at the Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa. We will see also the city of the Borbons and the urban style of Charles III, the Royal Palace, Cibeles Fountain, Neptune and Puerta de Alcalá, part of the legacy of Joseph Bonaparte in the XIXth cerntury: Plaza de Oriente and Prado Museum, and of course the contemporanean city, with its big avenues as Gran Vía, Paseo de la Castellana, Salamanca's Quarter, Plaza de Castilla, Parque del Oeste, the University City and and the emblematic Bullfight area Plaza de Las Ventas. Dinner and accomodation in the city.
Day 4: Madrid - Aranjuez - Córdoba
After breakfast we will leave Madrid towards Cordoba, but we will make a stop in our way to visit Aranjuez, which was the favourite place of residence of the Spanish royalty for the last three centuries. We will visit its famous French style of the 18th century gardens situated in an island of the Tajo river, just in front of the Royal Palace. Then we will continue our way to Córdoba, where we will check in at our hotel and have some free time to have lunch. In the afternoon we will enjoy a walking tour of the old Jewish Quarter and the Synagogue, and also we will be able to see the impressive Mosque, legacy of the arabians, and the beautifully landscaped Alcazar gardens. Dinner and accommodation in Córdoba.
Day 5: Córdoba - Sevilla
Departure after breakfast to Sevilla where we will enjoy a guided tour of the city, with its beautiful Torre del Oro, the Cathedral and the Giralda Tower, the old Jewish Quarter, which was once the biggest in Spain, the typical quarters like Triana and Barrio Santa Cruz. Check in at the hotel and free afternoon. In the evening we will enjoy a dinner with Flamenco Show. Overnight in Sevilla.
Day 6: Sevilla - Granada - Cartagena
Departure after breakfast towards Granada, where we will see the residential district of the emirs of the 13th and 14th century, Albaycín, the Generalife gardens together with a guided visit of the Alhambra Palace. Then we will continue to Cartagena where we will have dinner and accommodation.
Day 7: Cartagena - Valencia
After breakfast we will enjoy a panoramic guided tour of Cartagena, an important historical fortified city, its port was the entry point for Spanish conquerors in South America, and where we will see mainly colonial architecture, and learn about the important figures who inhabited it during the centuries. We will visit San Felipe Castle, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and then continue our way to Valencia, where we will have dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Valencia - Barcelona
After breakfast we will have a sightseeing tour of the city of Valencia, where we will see the Lonja de la Seda and the Fallas Museum and make a stop at the cicy center of the City of Arts and Sciences. Then we will continue our journey to Barcelona. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9 : Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Barcelona Airport. Check in at the airline desk and end of our services.
